Penn State Sponsors

Penn State Sponsors

Beyond the national competition sponsors, several corporations, organizations and groups have provided our team with above-average support and assistance. These sponsors are listed below. If you are interested in becoming a team sponsor, please contact our Faculty Advisor Gary Neal using ‘EcoCAR Sponsor’ in the subject line. We’re always looking for help to move our projects along. Every little bit counts and any help is always greatly appreciated.

CF Design

CFD Software has donated 3 licenses for their fluid flow and electronics cooling system design software. Their software plays an important role in concept validation of key vehicle systems. Check out our technical success story which outlines how CFdesign helped make our vehicle possible!

BAE Systems

BAE Systems has donated funding for general support of our research and projects.

The Learning Factory is a University-Industry partnership between the Penn State University and several corporate parters. Among other projects, the Learning Factor has provided all PSU HEV-affiliated students and volunteers with hands-on industrial equipment safety and skills training.

The AVT Team is coordinated through Penn State’s Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering department; many of our faculty advisors and graduate students work for MNE, and our website is hosted on a department server.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has been a consistent supporter of the Penn State AVT’s efforts. Through its Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant (AFIG) the DEP has granted funding to PSU’s Pennsylvania Transportation Institute (our parent body) in order to continue development of our vehicles and our facility infrastructure. For EcoCAR we have received $160,000 from DEP.

PT Iis an interdisciplinary research unit of Penn State’s College of Engineering. PTI has been generous enough to make its vehicle testing facilities available to us, as well as providing the garage in which we work.
